Role: Sr. Java Developer

Location – New York (Hybrid – 3 days/week)

The candidate will be part of a global development team with responsibility to deliver Prime Finance system solutions in a series of phased deliverables. This will involve the following: Building the next generation of the Prime Finance system based on Micro Service and Event based architecture.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop Core Java, Multithreaded and Spring based applications.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced development along with the ability to multi-task.
• Proactively pick up open tasks
• The candidate will be working on sprints with weekly releases and required attendance at daily Team Meetings.
• Work closely with a team member in other regions.
• Comply to standards of development and firm mandates.
• Deliver solutions from inception to analysis, design, implementation and delivery.
• Work with global team across US, EMEA and APAC, Mumbai.
• Provide system support and maintenance.
• Partner with the Business including Traders, Front and Middle Office users to gather requirements and provide support.

SKILLS:

• Experienced with all SDLC stages of development with the ability to work on multiple projects.
• 5+ years of solid Core Java and Spring Framework design and development skills.
• Good Database development skills for writing Queries and Stored Procedures (3+ years).
• Understanding of Microservice architecture.
• Linux/Unix shell scripting (and/or Python) with command knowledge for deployment and maintenance related activities.
• Understanding of message-based architecture using MQ, JMS and/or TIBCO (2+ years).
• Maven or Gradle, GIT/SVN, Jira, Jenkins, and other build and deployment tools is desired
• Knowledge of Prime Services or securities lending systems or of Prime Brokerage systems is highly desired.
• Excellent interpersonal skills along with a team mentality and communication skills.
• Good problem solving and analytical skills.
