United Performance Metals (UPM) is seeking an eager and motivated individual to join our team in Chicago, IL. As a subsidiary of O'Neal Industries, we have over a century of expertise in the distribution of specialty metals worldwide. Our company stands out for its commitment to delivering top-notch products and expanding opportunities for our team members.

As an Operations Associate, you will work alongside our Machine Operators to produce high-quality parts using specialty metals. You will learn how to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and equipment for tolerance measurement. Additionally, you will be trained to use our machinery for flattening, slitting, and edging our specialty metals. In this role, you will be an integral part of our team dedicated to continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow instructions from Operators
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes for basic material handling
• Ensure adequate inventory control and supply
• Pull materials from stock
• Process orders
• Check tolerances as required
• Package materials
• Prepare orders for shipment
• Return unused materials to inventory
• Conserve space by consolidating materials
• Maintain cleanliness and order

Requirements:

• Forklift license
• Packaging experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in a manufacturing environment

Salary info:

$19 - $20 / hr
