The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, a tech-enabled clinical site organization specializing in Cardiology, Nephrology, Behavioral Health and Infectious disease trials. Their mission is to provide pharmaceutical companies with a breakthrough approach to clinical trials while empowering physician research, reinventing access to diverse populations, and accelerating the collection of data vital to high-quality clinical research outcomes while comprehensively supporting the drug development process. They maintain corporate headquarters in Palm Beach FL, and the Research Triangle Park. They are looking for a Controller to join their team.They have a new office starting in Houston, TX and need a Controller who can work remote to start but then Hybrid once the office is set up. The Controller is responsible for preparing financial information for management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate holds an active CPA, and has at least 7 years accounting experience, experience working in start-ups, and has strong attention to detail, and superb analytical skills.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly close process to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting including the preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
Assist with preparation for year-end audits
Assist with the establishment, documentation and continuous improvement of all financial processes, workflows and forms
Prepare Profit and Loss report, expenses, and account receivables
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Qualifications/Skills
BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
CPA a must
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Desktop and Online
Strong attention to detail, deadline-oriented, time management
Data entry management and analytical skills
Ideal talent has experience working in a start-up
