Job Title: Grants Program Operations Coordinator
Reports to: Grants Program Director
Location/Hours: San Juan, Puerto Rico / Full Time
Participate in the coordination and implementation of the TRUST’s Grants Program’s initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Help develop grant applications in science & technology.
- Lead the efforts of a new certification program that includes but is not limited to identification and coordination of training and certifications, outreach efforts, contact nonprofits, universities and other interested parties interested in the certifications, monitoring progress, developing reports.
- Draft proposals, gathering, and formatting information, and obtaining approvals.
- Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying requests for proposal (RFPs), and attending strategy meetings.
- Meets proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering writing, review, approval, and transmittal.
- Assist in coordinating events related to the TRUST’s Grants Program
- for the scientific, student, business, and general community. This task is done in contact with and with the support of PRSTRT’s Communications & Marketing team. (DMC)
- Help prepare reports or minutes of activities or events held.
- Help develop orientation materials and other resources.
- Help in promotional activities to disseminate information on the request for proposals.
- Assist in identifying and selecting reviewers and organization peer review groups to evaluate research proposals based on scientific merit.
- Help in creating a database of potential reviewers of subject matter experts for different grant programs.
- Schedule site visits to institutions that are applying to receive funds from the Research Grants Program.
- Work with the Trust’s Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and Lead Graphic Designer, producing content for Grants Program updates on Trust’s webpage. The content creation task is linked with the Communications & Marketing functional area, so this role needs to establish a direct connection with DMC to get the knowledge of procedures, platforms, and brand guide.
- Write, edit, and contribute to PowerPoint presentations and publications.
- Maintain a working atmosphere of respect, professionalism, and productivity.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Planning and scheduling, technical skills.
- Data Collection proficiency.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills. Strong command of written and verbal communication in English and Spanish; fully bilingual. Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing abilities and command of grammar/punctuation, style, and format; ability to communicate, translate, simplify and articulate complex ideas into easily understood and relatable concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as persuasive abilities to influence cooperation and collaboration.
- Capable of prioritizing work (meet deadlines, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple simultaneous projects under strict timelines and within confidential circumstances.
- Ability to work within a team and provide support.
- Ability to perform in cross-functional team approach and job responsibilities.
- Solid understanding of the organization's overall business and program objectives.
- Proficient computer user with equal knowledge of software programs and the Internet. Able to learn the usage of new grants management platforms.

Experience & Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, English, Journalism, Administration, or related field
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in grant writing, prospect research, coordination, or a minimum of years comparable and transferable skills acquired in a professional setting.
