PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As a Cabana Host I, you will set the stage for guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW moments and memories they will carry with them far beyond their stay with us.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome guests to the pool and the MGM Resorts family by providing memorable service, anticipate guest needs and provide assistance with seating cabanas or general pool and property information
  • Respond to and resolve any guest complaints in alignment with S.H.O.W. Service Basics, exceeding guest expectations and providing all other supporting services
  • Assist with inventory for ordering of supplies and ensure cabanas are set up prior to opening each day
  • Deliver a seamless and professional experience by assisting with cabana arrivals/departures and walk-ins and all other tasks associated with cabana check-ins and check-outs
  • Be prepared to knowledgeably answer any questions your cabana guests may ask about offerings at the pool and inside the hotel
  • Work closely with VIP services and beverage team to ensure guests are receiving the highest level of service possible
  • Achieve a positive and lasting impression by ensuring correct charges and credits are posted, collecting payments, handling room and credit transactions, and demonstrating responsibility in balancing all transactions using proper cash handling procedures
  • Answer incoming guest, internal and external calls including radio communications, assist with cabana check in and wait lists, prepare and stock cabanas for guests, perform opening and closing duties for cabanas and maintain the appearance of the pool deck throughout the shift which includes straightening and stacking of chairs, collecting soiled towels and trash, and moving chairs
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
  • Perception and awareness of individual needs and the ability to handle all situations calmly and professionally
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
  • Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • No minimum requirements

PREFERRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of cash handling experience
  • Experience in a similar luxury resort setting
