The Mom Project is excited to partner with KinderCare in their search for a Lead Data Engineer . This role is 100% remote.

As the Lead Data Lake Developer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of big data pipelines, data lake solutions, and data models using an Agile methodology. This role will also lead a talented team of software engineers in an Agile environment to design and transform our mission-critical applications crucial to several rapidly growing lines of business.
Responsibilities:
Lead the team to design, develop, and implement big data pipelines and ETL systems for the data lake
Responsible for the organization and tracking of work for multiple developers on large, complex projects
Champion best practices within the development team
Optimize solutions for support, usability, and flexibility
Lead support and triage activities, including rotational on-call duties
Collaborate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical team members
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or related field; or equivalent work experience
5-8 years of experience as a Data Engineer designing, developing, and implementing big data pipelines and ETL systems for data lakes
Experience with data lake technologies (S3, Glue, Redshift, RDS, DynamoDB, Data Pipeline, EMR) and data lake architectures
Advanced knowledge in data warehousing solutions (Panoply, Redshift, etc.)
Hands-on experience using Cloud-based database systems (Azure SQL, Bigtable, etc.)
Hands-on development experience using Python, Perl, Scala, Java, SAS, C++
Fluent in SQL, ability to write new, complex queries with no supervision
Experience with Agile development methodologies, CI/CD automation, Test Driven Development
Knowledge of best practices in database engineering and data security
Familiarity with machine learning methodologies
High-level cloud migration & tools knowledge
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this position is: $150,000 - $165,000 per year
