Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Web Designer will work closely with Marketing, Creative Services, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Customer Service teams to understand objectives before creating and/or maintaining domestic and international website sites and mobile device apps. The Web Designer is a full-time salaried position with standard working hours, Monday through Friday. The position is FLSA exempt.


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPEIRENCE:

  • Must have BA/BFA in Web Design, Digital Media, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • Must have 3-5+ years of work-related experience.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, or other related languages.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and proficient in WordPress.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional team members in a fast paced, dynamic, and mission driven environment.
  • Strong collaborative, written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to facilitate working meetings, ask questions, and apply active listening skills.

  • Comfortable working with foreign languages and ability to work with a multi-cultural team.
  • Maintain information security regarding all the Company’s proprietary information.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical office environment working inside a controlled temperature environment. This position may perform activities in an environment that contains hazardous elements and requires safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines. Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members. All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, BPRs, and support the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to use a computer, keyboard, telephone for up to 8 hours a day. Ability to sit in a seated position for up to 8 hours per day.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Web Developer

  • Maintain, design, and build domestic and international Company websites using both custom HTML/CSS/JS and WYSIWYG tools like WordPress.
  • Plan, create and code internet sites and web pages - ability to combine text with sounds, pictures, graphics, and video clips.
  • Design and configure new websites or web pages.
  • Create cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms and in line with brand guidelines.
  • Familiar with backend web architecture and domain hosting requirements for applications
  • Develop and manage the Company’s mobile-based applications (iOS and Android) based on current usability trends and work with app programmer consultants.
  • Work with Creative Services Team members to ensure brand standards and design guidelines for websites match brand collateral.
  • Create and select imagery that reflects the Company’s marketing objectives.
  • Assist with copywriting for websites.
