Position Title: Resident Engineer - NSP, IP/MPLS Subject Matter Expert

Classification: Exempt, No Overtime applicable

Type : Individual Contributor

Location: REMOTE, anywhere in USA only. Will also travel 50% to Amarillo Texas, Eau Claire Wisconsin, Richmond, VA and Denver CO

Duration: 6 Months Project, Extendable based on Nokia requirement

Status: MUST be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident

Pay Scale: $50 - $55 p/h

Working Hours: 40-hour work week. Must be flexible.

Description:

Candidate can work remote with the ability to travel at least 50% of the time as needed to Amarillo Texas, Eau Claire Wisconsin, Richmond, VA and Denver CO. Business travel will be covered by Nokia with prior approval. See travel policy

MUST have be Service Routing subject matter expert on Nokia NSP, knowledgeable on NOKIA 77xx Service Routing devices (Hardware/Software/Diagnostics)

Requirements:

  • The Resident Engineer will work onsite, in Customer’s locations. The Resident Engineer will interface with the local Customer Network Operations Center personnel.
  • Supporting: Customer’s NOC Operations and Maintenance Engineering Staff Network to develop Operations Readiness
  • Establish documented processes and procedures to improve NOC visibility to the EMS’s and associated Network Elements.
  • Enhance the Client Outage Management and Notification processes.
  • Define IP MPLS provisioning standards and develop a consistent process guideline to further reduce fault restoration timelines.
  • Provide continued On-The-Job (OJK) Knowledge transfer to Client NOC personnel including:
  • Monitoring and surveillance activities
  • Command Line Interface for Nokia routers and switches
  • NSP EMS Familiarization
  • New network element configuration/Network routing setup
  • IP Element configuration
  • Event detection and isolation/Fault resolution
  • Routine diagnostics and corrective action management
  • Evaluate customer skillsets and develop training plan
