Job Description:

The Patriot Contractor Maintenance Technician (CMT) will perform the full range of required maintenance support tasks and services for the Patriot Fire Units during the System Integration and Check-Out (SICO) process. The CMT shall also aid the SICO Fielding Team during unpacking, inventory, inspection, repair and check-out of the Patriot missile system Major End Items (MEI). The CMT shall also perform PMCS on all of the MEIs. The CMT shall perform the fault isolation of system and end item malfunctions using built-in test equipment (BITE), manual maintenance procedures and other PATRIOT test equipment and special tools. The CMTs shall also perform diagnosis of electronic problems between the hardware, software, and Battery Replaceable Units (BRUs) using a variety of electronic repair and fault isolation procedures such as system diagnostics, unit self-checks, BITE, and tools and test equipment. Provide field experience in the technical support of the FMS Patriot Configuration III+ Radar equipment. Knowledge with the operational/analytical software used on the Patriot Radar systems. Knowledge in the utilization of common industry external test equipment, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power meters, frequency counters, spectrum and digital analyzers. Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of concepts and principles. Provides technical assistance in maintaining the Patriot power generation equipment, communications equipment and assists in missile handling operations as required. Prepares and submits maintenance reports and Patriot Failure Reports (PFRs). Performs other duties as required or directed by the section officer.

This position is located in Manama, Bahrain.

Required Skills:

Demonstrated experience in the technical support, at the organizational level, of the Patriot ICC, ECS, RS, CRG, BMC, IFF, AMG, GMT, LRPT and LS. Experienced in using Patriot ECS troubleshooting software aids such as Status Monitor. Knowledge and experience in the utilization of common industry external test equipment, such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power meters, frequency counters, spectrum, and digital analyzers. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) and forms. Experience in the frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. Identifies faulty work practices and demonstrates proper maintenance and troubleshooting techniques. Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with organizational level maintenance on Patriot Missile Systems. Must have successfully completed the following Courses:

U.S. Army Patriot Operator and System Mechanic Course for MOS 140E/140L, 24T/14E, or an equivalent course of instruction conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army Air Defense School or the Patriot Missile System Contractor.

This requires an ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY Clearance.

Desired Skills:

Experienced field engineer with military training in Patriot Configuration III Air Defense systems at the organizational level. Demonstrated experience with Department of the Army Modification Work Order (DAMWO) installations, to include system integration and checkout. Knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of Remote Launch Communication Upgrade (RLCEU). Fiber Optic/ RF cable troubleshooting. Understanding and knowledge of military communications systems and encryption devices. Previous experience in International Patriot FMS Programs and living and working in an overseas location.

Required Education:

BS Electrical Engineering or Applied Science. Will substitute experience for education (i.e., no degree plus 10 years of directly related experience.)
