Primary Purpose and Function: The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits,

onboarding/offboarding of employees, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. Be a leader in employee relations matters.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Activities require answering VoIP phones, working on computers with keyboard and various office functions.
  • Frequent sitting for extended periods.
  • Work is normally in an environmentally controlled office setting.
  • Ability to interact with customers and employees in a positive manner.
  • Ability to remain seated for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. Occasionally move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Duties:

  • Oversee the daily workflow and output of the HR department: Recruit, interview, hire, and training development of new staff in the department as needed.
  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource strategy as it relates to business practices, retention, and succession planning.
  • Enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
  • Manage Workman's Compensation classification, reporting and audits.
  • Manage payroll/HR: time keeping system.
  • Enforce management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Retain historical human resource records by implementing a document management for filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
  • Manage the performance management system to include tracking, overseeing and training managers/supervisors.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintain company organizational chart.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Current SHRM/HRCI certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or similar work experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations.
  • English and Spanish preferred
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • 1-2 years' experience in employee relations matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Quality organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
