We are looking for an exceptionally talented, creative, and smart Summer Intern to join our team at Segal Benz. The right candidate is a great problem-solver and has a passion for graphic design.

You will assist our team of designers and art directors to produce pieces through final production stages. You thrive on taking a design direction and fine-tuning it, then producing final ready-to-go files for either print or web.

Of course, you are highly organized and have a demonstrated knowledge of both print and web issues such as color spaces, printing methods, type and font usage, image resolution, formats, and optimization.

Working a full-time schedule for the summer, the Graphic Design Intern will be an integral member of the practice and will be exposed to assignments that will their enhance their graphic design skills, develop their understanding of the consulting environment, and specifically, contribute to strategic work relating to our Communications Practice.

The Role:

§ Be an integral part of the design team, supporting the production and design of a variety of deliverables

§ Use layout and hierarchy to clarify complex topics, creating understandable and engaging materials

§ Contribute to many projects across several clients simultaneously, so ability to juggle many varying forms of work and projects is a necessity. Able to prioritize and summarize what is important within changing and often challenging scenarios and deliver on time, without inaccuracies or errors

§ Participate in brainstorms and contribute to the strategic direction of campaigns

• 
  2+ years of educational experience in graphic design or working graphic designer experience

• Mac hardware skills and experience. Software requirements: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Internet browsers, understanding of HTML and CSS

• Ability to produce print-ready artwork to specifications, with knowledge of printing methods

• Ability to produce web prototypes, optimized web graphics and an understanding of responsive web design

• Understanding of typography, font management, image formats, resolution, and color space. Understanding of branding and brand guidelines and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• An outstanding portfolio that showcases your talent and experience. Examples of print, web, complex layout and hierarchy, long documents, and motion graphics are welcome!

• Attention to detail: ability to incorporate multiple rounds of edits with precision and accuracy

• Well organized, with a workflow that takes into account a collaborative environment where project work sometimes is shared. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, juggling multiple projects and priorities
