Paperless Environments is seeking a .NET Backend Developer to join our dynamic team! Over the past 17 years, we have built an industry changing document management software package suite that allows users to bring in documents from a wide array of sources such as our OCR, email, mobile, and web portals, then provides superior document routing and form entry, all while synchronizing entry data from our software back into their accounting systems.

Now we are building a fully SaaS based model to take this desktop solution to the cloud! Over the past year we have laid the groundwork for document management and now we’re looking for talented developers to help us build the other core modules and integrations as we move towards getting this product into production. Of course, this role does not end there! One of the reasons Paperless Environments continues to be a market leader is that we’re always growing our software. Our customers love us for it and our developers get to continuously expand their skillsets with new technology while bringing these ideas to life.

A little bit about your future team:

The development side of Paperless currently consists of eight developers, two QA, and one technical writer. Each developer has their own specialties, with some overlap between backend, frontend, mobile, web, and desktop. We love collaboration, and the size of our team really allows each developer to pursue development interests that excite them!

We’re currently running two-week sprints kicked off by a sprint planning and ending with a sprint review with three short stand ups spread evenly throughout the sprint. We use Microsoft DevOps for sprint planning, ticketing, and repo management.

Many of our developers are based at our corporate office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and several others work remotely from around the US. With a satellite office in Portland, Oregon, you can work with us here in Baton Rouge, in Portland, or fully remote.

What we think the perfect candidate would look like:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
  
• 4+ years of backend software development using C# and .NET. (Current implementation is using .NET 6)
  
• 2+ years of experience working with REST APIs
  
• A strong sense of good design patterns and coding practices (especially async await design patterns)
  
• An upbeat personality with great communication skills that thrives in a team first atmosphere
  
• Familiar with Git for source control

Things that would really separate you as a candidate, but are not required:

• Experience with the Microsoft ecosystem including Azure, DevOps, Pipelines, and cloud services.
  
• Previous experience with or a desire to learn mobile or frontend development
  
• Previous integration or development experience with things like OCR, barcode readers, scanning, digital signing, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Outlook.
  
• Previous document management, ERP, or accounting software experience
• Familiar with SignalR
