About us

The UC Alumni Chorus (UCAC), is an 80-100 member chorus of adults who are alumni of the University of California campuses or who are associated with UC in other ways. The Administrator position supports the work of the Chorus Manager, Board of Directors, Artistic Director and other UCAC Officers. UCAC is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization. .

Under direction of the Chorus Manager, the UCAC Administrator will provide administrative support to the Chorus Manager, Board, Artistic Director, and Officers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, membership management, development and fundraising, maintaining digital platforms, assisting with publicity and concert management.

The position requires approximately 6-8 hours per week, with more time in concert weeks and fundraising periods and significantly less time during the summer. Most work will be completed remotely and the administrator is expected to provide their own computer, internet access, etc. This is a part time contract position and no benefits will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Member Management, under the direction of the Manager
  • Maintain and update member access, communication groups, chorus calendar in Chorus Connection
  • Maintain and update mailing lists associated with UCAC
  • Advertise and schedule auditions, in collaboration with the Artistic Director
  • Maintain and provide orientation materials for new members
  • Assist with the logistics of chorus retreats (one per semester)
  • Development and Fundraising, under the direction of the Board of Directors
  • Assist with management of annual campaign
  • Assist with grant writing and research, as needed
  • Patron and Donor communications, including correspondence and acknowledgement letters; maintenance of development database, including donor records and grant revenue
  • Maintain digital platforms, including the UCAC website (see detailed list below)
  • Publicity, under the direction of the Publicity Officer
  • Work with UCAC Publicity Officer and Graphic Designer to develop publicity and visual campaigns
  • Pre concert advertisements on relevant local digital and print platforms
  • Execute concert promotion plan, including website update
  • Concert Support (at least two concerts per year), under the direction of the Concert Manager
  • Book Concert venue as needed
  • Create event on Ticketing platform
  • Assist with “front-of-house” duties during concerts, including supervising volunteers, ticket collection, etc.
  • Assist with ticket management and record keeping related to sales
  • Attend Board of Directors meetings, when invited
  • Other Projects as needed.

  • Digital platform competencies (see below)
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong time management skills and ability to complete projects efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability in problem identification and reasoning
  • Skills in service orientation, organization, active listening, and critical thinking
  • Experience in choral singing, music and/or venue management
  • Some post secondary education or related experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
