firsthand’s People Coordinator is a critical role within our business. You’re a creative problem solver who will help empower our amazing people to be well-cared for and to do their best work. Reporting to our Senior People Partner, you’ll help build and iteratively improve on our HR systems and processes, always ensuring there is high data integrity in our People platforms. You’ll bring a strong sense of proactivity, ownership, and curiosity in how we create an amazing employee experience for our inspiring colleagues.

As our People Coordinator, you will manage responsibilities including:

    • Handle all HR processes and recordkeeping, including onboarding, employee changes, I-9s, payroll, benefits election processing, employment verifications, unemployment claims, and compliance-related requirements
    • Run reports in HR systems and ensure platforms across the company are always up-to-date with our employee census
    • Support in the management and implementation of HR technologies (HRIS, LMS, ATS) as needed
    • Coordinate with stakeholders across the organization with a high degree of customer service orientation
    • Manage some employee communications, such as new hire welcomes and select All Team deck slides

You will be a good fit if you:

    • Have worked in a fast-paced startup environment where both change and speed are a part of work
    • Are resourceful, proactive, and have a strong sense of pride and ownership in your work
    • Have 1-2 years experience as an HR Generalist, Executive Assistant or similar role where confidentiality, attention to detail and customer service orientation are paramount
    • Bring exceptional attention to detail, along with a strong sense of urgency and judgment of when and how to escalate issues
    • Have a deep care for creating change in the world by building more inclusive, equitable and diverse organizations

    • Thrive on feedback, and enjoy collaborating with and influencing colleagues and leaders
    • Are happy working in a fluid, sometimes ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment
    • Are comfortable moving forward with imperfect information. You are proactive and don’t let the pursuit of perfect get in the way of getting work done
    • Have experience in tools including Slack, Google Suite and other tools that support asynchronous work is not required but is a strong plus
$25 - $36 an hour
This is a full-time, non-exempt reporting to the Senior People Partner. firsthand cares deeply about ensuring pay equity with every team member who joins. The expected range for this role’s base salary is $25-$36/hour.
