We are in search of a Project Manager to join our Veterans Administration Electronic Health Records Modernization program Health Records Modernization AMS team supporting the VA EHR Modernization program (i.e., Cerner Millennium). On this program, the Leidos Military & Veterans Health Solutions group supports the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide seamless care for Veterans and active-duty military members, improving their access to the highest quality care.

The Project Manager will oversee and manage complex projects and/or task orders for clinical interfaces integration tasks. Direct team personnel, provide oversight and direction to ensure effective management of project costs and schedules, profitability, contract compliance, and serve as the principal customer interface for program related activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the actions taken by the team members to implement VA EHRM customer requirements.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and tracking interface integration activities for assigned projects.
  • Accountable for effective and efficient project resource forecasting, utilization, and resource management.
  • Participate in Cerner/VA collective and collaborative integration meetings to brief and manage stakeholder expectations against approved requirements. Work closely and effectively with Leidos Program Manager, VA Project Managers, various subcontracting partners, external consulting organizations, customer resources, contractor, and other 3rd party providers

  • Responsible for establishing and monitoring internal and external metrics to measure and tune performance of project related activities.
  • Provide proactive management and direction of personnel performing complex tasks while planning, implementing, and maintaining a project organization structure and selecting and recruiting key team members.
  • Serve as a corporate ambassador when engaged with suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, other prime contractors, other company departments, and in community activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with at least 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in a business setting interacting regularly and extensively with both the client and management teams.
  • Demonstrated experience performing work on a Firm Fixed Price contract vehicle.
  • Experience leading a virtual team dispersed within the continental United States.
  • Demonstrated experience working in application development or integration efforts including consolidation of disparate systems with various technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in the engineering challenges of Systems Development, Systems Integration, and infrastructure deployment. Substantial comprehension of the business value and processes of large IT environments.
  • Strong understanding of, or experience with, software development and integration processes, including CMMI/SEI methodologies.
  • Experience working in a complex technical and multi-site environment.
  • Experience managing programs and projects for the Veterans Affairs
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a VA Moderate BI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading an agile development team.
  • Experience supporting healthcare information technology projects.
  • Experience supporting information technology projects for Veterans Affairs agency.
  • PMP Certificate or related experience.
  • Current/Active VA background investigation/VA Access is a plus.


Pay Range:

Pay Range $84,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $175,500.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
