As the Vice President - Data Product Owner JPMorgan Payments, you will need to be a leader passionate about using data to accelerate development of our Data Profiling and Analytics Toolkit to de-risk and improve our client onboarding and implementation. You will immerse yourself in solving complex business problems through innovation and proven and repeatable engineering practice. You will partner with application development teams and other Technology, Operational and Product teams across the group and the firm, developing an extensive personal network that will allow you to influence and provide technical and architectural leadership and mentoring. Additionally, y ou will work on several projects which will require differing approaches for success and will depend heavily on collaboration with our colleagues to deliver business results. You will be considered the Subject Matter Expert on Data, Information Architecture and Data Management - working closely and collaboratively with the project development teams, ensuring that the design is implementable, and that delivery is consistent with the agreed design.

Product Ops is part of Change and Transformation Management utility within Payment Organization. The team is focused on developing internal products and solutions which can be leveraged by our internal teams to support onboarding clients across Payments product groups.

Job Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a strategy for the development and delivery of Data Profiling and Analytics Toolkit to support strategic business objectives, business operations, advanced analytics, and metrics and reporting.
  • Initiate a strong understanding of the data and its use within the business and across lines of business and functions, through collaborative partnerships with multiple stakeholders, including Product Owners, analytics leads, and business process owners. Provide subject matter expertise with respect to the content and use of data in the product and associated business area.
  • Identify and prioritize the scope of critical data within their product, ensuring that the prioritized data is well-documented as to its meaning and purpose, and classified accordingly with metadata to enable its understanding and control
  • Support the Product, Technology, Client Service & Implementation, Chang Management and Operations teams by identifying data required to be integrated into analytics platforms to support projects such as analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Establish expectations for the required accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data within the product, and coordinate and influence internal and partnered resources to deliver data quality requirements
  • Direct the development of processes and procedures to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks for data in the product, including risks related to data protection, data retention and destruction, data storage, data use, and data quality
  • Demonstrate governance by ensuring that: (a) workstreams and initiatives are tracked and actively managed, (b) KPI's are agreed, measured and tracked, (c) deliverables are properly prioritized and sequenced, (d) risks are addressed and status measured, and (e) deliveries are successful

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 10+ years of industry experience in a data-related field
  • Experience in application, data, and infrastructure architecture and design disciplines, including API design
  • Strong experience of several major technology implementation projects
  • Strong data orientation and experienced in data analysis and data mining (hands on experience)
  • Knowledge of core Information Architecture capabilities, including Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality (DQ), Metadata Management, Data Taxonomy, Data Integration, Data Migration and Data Modelling
  • Experience in creating, contributing to, and reviewing Architecture and Development artefacts such as Conceptual, Logical and State Data Model's
  • Bachelor's degree required

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Technical knowledge of data management and governance, big data platforms, or data architecture preferred
  • Excellent leadership skills - of product, programs, projects, teams and/or employees
  • Understanding of Agile technological development methodology
