Job Summary:

(START IMMEDIATELY) The Center Staffing Services (TCSS) is looking to hire a line/prep cook at a corporate account in Salt Lake City, UT. As cooks in our client's kitchen, you will be given thorough training via ServSafe, hands-on menu training, and receive all the support you need to be an effective and satisfied employee. Responsibilities include accurately and efficiently preparing, portioning, grilling, and prepping a variety of hot and cold food items for various meals and accurately matching guests' orders. Must be able to work at a fast pace and work as a team with other employees.

Job Requirements:

• Prepare food for guests while following guidelines laid out in quality control standards and state and local regulations.
• Fulfill guest orders promptly while adhering to best practices and careful preparation of food items;
• Keep your work area clean and free of unsanitary items and objects; properly dispose of waste in appropriate receptacles;
• Remain knowledgeable about the restaurant menu and make accommodations on individual orders as requested by guests;
• Work alongside other team members to ensure streamlined service and a commitment to work together to achieve company goals;
• Ensure that the food area is stocked and organized; alert the manager of any inventory deficiencies, and keep inventory records;
• Resolve problems with the wait staff, customer orders, or other food-related issues in the kitchen in a timely and efficient manner;
• Maintain utensils such as knives in safe and appropriate working conditions as well as ensure that all utensils are clean before each use.

Skills

• Minimum 18 years of age;
• Verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while standing for long periods;
• Ability to use food preparation equipment, including knives and other sharp objects, proficiently Preferred
• At least two years of experience as a cook;
• Effective communication skills (bonus if you're fluent in Spanish)
• Arrive at work on time (shifts may include weekends and holidays)

Shifts open for hiring:

6am to 2:00pm M-F, with weekends off

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
