Job Description

AECOM is seeking a ITS Engineer based in Houston, TX.

This position will assist with on-going design support of ITS, signal, and illumination projects. This will include but is not limited to support of plan reviews, ITS planning, cost estimations, design task lead, mentoring junior staff on ITS/electrical projects.

+ Serves as a task lead for the development of ITS, illumination and signals design

+ Perform design and calculations both independently and with a team for ITS, illumination, signal, and signing/marking projects

+ Provides guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers

+ Develop and maintain project schedules

+ Performs work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision

+ Independently problem solve items for projects; work with project managers to execute design projects

+ Serve as a technical expert for ITS/electrical projects

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
+ BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred

+ 4+ years of traffic engineering experience; FE/EIT certification

+ Experience with ITS system and design principles, standards

+ Prior DOT experience within the United States

+ AGI32 Software experience

+ Experience with Illumination and signal design

+ Prepare technical reports and papers for clients and/or internal distribution

+ Proficient in Microstation, Excel, Word, Google Earth

+ Design experience with fiber and wireless networks, CCTV, DMS

+ Project experience with TxDOT, City agencies

+ Experience with PS&E package preparation for ITS/Illum./Signal designs
