Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc. provides account management, contracting and customer support services to key health care customers, including hospital systems and group purchasing organizations, health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, and government health care institutions.

The Director, Strategic Account Management Strategy & Operations is a critical member of the Strategic Account Management team, the organization within SCG that leads strategic relationships with Payers, Health Systems and Emerging Intermediaries. This role will have significant interaction and coordination across both the Payer and Institutional customer teams within Strategic Account Management, as well as internal business partners including Commercial Excellence, Information Technology, Franchise Marketing Teams and other Strategic Customer Group teams across the Janssen portfolio. In their role, they will work to ensure the strategic and operational excellence of the Account and Health System teams, with a particular focus on communication and coordination, development, training, deal coordination, analytics and insight excellence and launch planning. The Director, Strategic Account Management Strategy & Operations reports to Senior Director, Strategic Account Management Strategy & Operations.

The Director, Strategic Account Management Strategy and Operations will:

  • Lead the cross-functional Pull Through Excellence workstream, including but not limited to strategic direction setting, oversight to subworkstreams and tasks, and managing organizational awareness, input and updates to ensure return on investment in market access positions.
  • Identify new opportunities for how to maximize access through new enterprise-wide solutions, processes and advancements and design and lead a team to solve for these opportunities
  • Partner with CE on ensuring a measurement framework related to Enterprise-Wide Pull Through Excellence, and oversee timely and consistent KPI updates to key stakeholders
  • Support and/or Lead the Access Insight & Forecasting process to inform the organization of expected Access Wins/Opportunities or Losses/Risk accordingly and partner with other VAP and SCG partners on ensuring a pull through plan accordingly
  • Support our SAM LT D2’s in key projects that optimize the effectiveness of their sleeves/channels for overall departmental effectiveness
  • Identify the National Payer Team yearly access goals and ensure routine monitoring of performance to-date
  • Determine, design and lead enhanced cross-Enterprise alignment activities across varying functions (SCG SAM, SCG VAP, Payer Marketing, Sales, IT, CE, JET Enablement Teams, more) and maintain ongoing relationships and communication with key stakeholder partners across the Enterprise
  • Manage vendors supporting Pull Through tool development and/or strategic process development Partner with Health Care Compliance and Law Department to ensure compliant approach to all projects and initiatives and coordinate any ad hoc related efforts across the team
  • Lead the operational oversight to our SAM Team Incentive Comp program, including strategic optimizations as identified
  • Partner with our SAM LT and SCG Account Directors and to identify market trends and explore new areas for connecting SCG market activities to meangingful data and opportunity for our business units
  • Support the Senior Director, S&Ops on key internal business process updates including but not limited to QBR’s, Annual Business Planning, JCLB updates, and more
  • Support and/or lead additional SAM and SCG strategic priority projects to advance our capabilities and position our teams for future marketplace success
  • Serve as a matrixed partner to our Value Access & Pricing Team and Customer Marketing Team on key brand initiatives, launch planning, launch forecasts, training planning and more
  • Oversee our SAM OPEX and FTE budgets to ensure effective budget and project management

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical experience in multi-disciplinary roles and across multiple channels is required (sales, marketing, payer, payer analytics, account management, account planning, etc.)
  • In-depth experience in the payer channel in one or more of the following is preferred (payer account management, payer analytics, payer marketing, payer pricing/contracting, or other related payer experience).
  • Experience launching new solutions or processes and stewarding change management is required
  • Successful track record of people leadership within a high performing team is preferred.
  • Comfort in a highly matrixed environment and ability to drive progress therein
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong business analytics skills and IT systems familiarity
  • Experience crafting and driving business cases forward
  • Project Management skills
  • Comfort with budget management and analysis
  • This position will require candidates to work or travel to Titusville, NJ as needed
