Job Description

As the Solar Innovations Installation Crew Leader, you will oversee Residential and Commercial Installation Projects, providing support and direction to Install Specialists and Subcontractors, while also ensuring a safe and efficient jobsite. You will be in a ‘hands on role,’ working alongside your team as an Install Specialist.

A typical week involves gathering your team and heading to a jobsite. This role is 100% travel during the week and home on weekends. Solar innovations will provide hotel accommodations, meal stipends, plus company vehicle and gas, and this role is eligible for overtime pay each week with a current average of 10-15%.

The ideal candidate will have some construction management experience, enjoy hands on work, be comfortable with all sorts of working environments and care about the safety of their people. What you will be doing:
  • Manage a team of Install Specialists while traveling to customer jobsites to install glass enclosures and/or window and door products.
  • Drive a Company Truck and enforce the crew’s adherence to the Hours-of-Service Regulations, vehicle inspection processes, and all related safety regulations.
  • Oversee each jobsite, assigning work to Associates and Subcontractors, ensuring work is completed on time, and monitoring quality standards.
  • Communicate needs for Change Orders to the office and ensure appropriate approvals/signatures are received for change orders.
  • Guide by example, ensuring the team provides the best possible customer service when onsite.
  • Problem solves in the field, and provide solutions to onsite issues.
  • Ensure the crew completes daily punches, follows travel and expense policies, and adheres to all Company Policies and Procedures.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in construction, carpentry, remodeling, and/or home building.
  • Experience with similar products (Glass Structures and/or Windows & Doors)
  • Previous management experience
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel, both for day trips and overnight trips (typically 3 - 4 overnights in a workweek)
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable Driving Record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 - 5 Years of experience with similar products (Glass Structures and/or Windows & Doors)
  • 2+ Years of experience leading a field installation crew
  • Ability to meet requirements to operateof DOT Vehicles.
  • Previous installation experience in residential or commercial industries
  • Bilingual skills a plus
