Job Description


AECOM
is seeking a Professional Civil Engineer for a confidential project in Washington, D.C that starts up in September. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing forensic engineering studies, and design, for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of civil engineering. IAW PWS Task 5.4.1


This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for managing the construction engineering functions on a construction project to ensure adherence to all engineering construction plans and specifications
  • Under general supervision, performs routine duties.
  • Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications.
  • Displays applications of sound professional judgment on details of work.
  • Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design.
  • Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting.
  • May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • U.S. Citizenship required, due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Requirements

  • 5 years civil engineering experience

OR

  • MS degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years civil engineering experience

OR

  • A minimum of 20 years of experience conducting civil design and design reviews.

OR

  • A minimum of five (10) years of experience with the Unified Facility Code and International Building Code.
