Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a level 2 Budget Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on site in San Diego, CA or Melbourne, FL with partial telework available.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Compiles and reviews budgets for corporate or organizational units using actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, expense reports, and other data sources to control funds and provide for proper financial administration
  • Prepares financial plans
  • Monitors implementation of financial policies
  • Prepares regular and special-purpose reports
  • Maintains historical records, analyzes trends
  • Establishes cost rates and personnel forecasts
  • Recommends and interprets budgetary policies and procedures
  • Prepares comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds
  • Determines rationale for variances between costs and budget

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field with 3 years of related experience OR a Master's Degree with 1 year of related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly organized
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP/Business Warehouse (BW) a plus
  • May Require some travel <5%
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively participate on team projects

California Salary Range: $63,800-$95,80

Florida Salary Range: $55,100-$82,700

The salary ranges for California and Florida are different due to the cost of living.

This position reports to San Diego, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Melbourne, FL, FL, USA.



Salary Range: $55,100 USD - $95,800 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
