Job Description


AECOM Hunt is seeking a Baggage Handling Assistant Project Manager to oversee the construction and installation of systems for or ongoing project at JFK airport in the New York City area.

Job Description:

  • Under moderate supervision assists with overall management administration to large scale, complex project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
  • Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor. Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training. Employee handles some unusual situations independently.
  • Interacts with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.
  • May be engaged in hiring subcontractors, monitoring change orders, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, negotiating solutions to major issues raised during construction that cannot be resolved on the job site at the Superintendent level, ordering removal of employees or dismissal of subs.
  • May interface with design team.
  • May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, provides assistance and reporting on all facets of the project to ensure all facets are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements
:

  • BS Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience with mechanical/engineering, motors, etc. associated with Baggage Handling systems or AA/AS and 6 years of relevant experience or HS/GED 8 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in the construction/assembly and mechanics of mechanical baggage handling/conveyor systems.
  • Experience in controls, mechanical systems, motors, etc.
  • Experience in Microsoft office to include Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
  • Electrical training and experience in an industrial environment or experience as maintenance mechanic
  • Experience working as an Assistant Project Manager or similar role for a large general contractor on a live construction site.
  • Experience working with electro/mechanical systems.
  • Experience in aviation/airports
  • Experience in construction document control on a large construction project.
  • Experience with E-Builder
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization now or in the future.
  • This position is located in the New York City area, relocation will not be provided.
  • Offered rate of compensation (New York City only) will be based on individual education, qualification, experience and work location. The salary range for the position is $48.53/hr - $89.78/hr (non-exempt).
