Armed Security Officer - Traffic Control and Crowd Management

We are seeking experienced and reliable Armed Security Officers to join our team for a special assignment during the grand opening period of Raising Cane's Restaurant. As an Armed Security Officer, your primary responsibility will be to control incoming and outgoing traffic on the property, ensuring the smooth flow of vehicles and maintaining compliance with state and local motor vehicle laws. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the number of vehicles on the property and assisting with traffic flow in the driveway.

Responsibilities:

• Direct incoming vehicles to available parking spaces, maintaining an organized parking system.
• Enforce state and local motor vehicle laws, ensuring compliance and promoting a safe environment.
• Control the flow of traffic in the driveway, ensuring efficient movement and preventing congestion.
• Assist pedestrians in safely navigating the property, providing guidance and ensuring their protection.
• Monitor and manage the number of vehicles on the property, coordinating with other team members to maintain an optimal capacity.
• Communicate effectively with team members, restaurant staff, and customers to provide necessary directions and information.
• Remain vigilant and alert to any suspicious activities, promptly reporting any concerns to the appropriate authorities.
• Respond calmly and professionally to any incidents or emergencies that may arise, following established protocols and ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
• Adhere to the uniform requirements, including wearing the designated all-black uniform, security badge, and any required protective equipment.
• Always maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, reflecting positively on the company and providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements:

• Valid MD SECURITY GUARD CARD and MD HANDGUN PERMIT.
• Prior experience in armed security, traffic control, or crowd management preferred.
• Familiarity with state and local motor vehicle laws and traffic management techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively handle challenging situations.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and perform duties outdoors for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work during the grand opening period, including weekends and evenings.

Uniform Requirements:

• Black shirt or jacket with white lettering displaying "Security" or "Officer"
• All-black BDU or Tactical-style pants
• All-black boots or sneakers (no designs or color logos allowed)
• Security badge
• Firearm with duty holster (concealed holsters not allowed while in uniform)
• Valid MD SECURITY GUARD CARD & MD HANDGUN PERMIT (copies required)
• American Traffic Safety Services Association Certification is mandatory for this detail. You can obtain your certification by registering for the Maryland Online Flagger Certification Training Course at https://www.atssa.com/Training/Find-a-Course/Flagger-Certification-Training#/qbe/Web_FlaggerCert_Events.
• Reflective safety vests for traffic direction can be obtained from https://www.hivissupply.com/safety-vests.html?gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwx_eiBhBGEiwA15gLNw-NzhTeZOdkjS4IwEnlz5Cdji9uaXWWkX2j1c6i8oCmiOcCcTml6xoCA38QAvD_BwE. Vests can be plain or say "Security" or "Officer."

**All schedule bids are on a 1st come, 1st serve basis.**

**If you work at least 24hrs, you will be reimbursed 50% of the flagger class fee. If you work 40hrs+, you will be reimbursed for 100% of the flagger class fee.**

• FRI 5/26/23 - 9am to 5pm (8hrs) - 1 slot
• SAT 5/27/23 - 9am to 5pm (8hrs) - 1 slot
• SAT 5/27/23 - 11am to 1am (14hrs) - 1 slot
• or 11am to 6pm (7hrs) & 6pm to 1am (7hrs) - 2 slots
• SAT 5/27/23 - 5pm to 1am (8hrs) - 2 slots
• SUN 5/28/23 - 9am to 5pm (8hrs) - 2 slots
• SUN 5/28/23 - 11am to 12am (13hrs) - 1 slot
• or 11am to 6pm (7hrs) & 6pm to 12am (6hrs) - 2 slots
• SUN 5/28/23 - 5pm to 12am (7hrs) - 2 slots
• TUE 5/30/23 - 5pm to 12am (7hrs) - 1 slot
